Newfoundland has been a place embedded with stories and folklore
since early settlement times. Intertwined within these tales are often breathtaking experiences
of the inherent rugged landscape and natural conditions of this island. In outport communities
like Newtown, these traditional relics as well as newer narratives are in danger of disappearing as
baby boomers are aging and the young migrate to larger cities. This proposal aims to create a lure
for the young and old, a mysterious stage full of unique experiences of the surrounding landscape
that can provoke conversation and the sharing of stories between different generations.
