Thesis Statement:
For my thesis project, I am investigating a method to create an analytical visualization tool in landscape architecture—a tool that can parametrically show the growth of trees (e.g. Quercus rubra and Catalpa speciosa). I am trying to understand how data-informed visualization of planting can be used as an analytical method to help designers and the other professionals they work with (consultants, contractors and operations crew) make strategic decisions for planting material within urban open spaces.
